Locate the version of software you are on by checking the top right corner of your screen. Submit an online ticket requesting the newest software version.

To upgrade the software on your freeze dryer, follow these steps:
- Download the software update files. The files should be provided by Harvest Right.
- Turn off your freeze dryer.
- Insert a USB drive into the USB slot on your freeze dryer.
- Turn your freeze dryer back on. The software update files will be automatically downloaded onto the freeze dryer from the USB drive.
- Remove the USB drive when you see the start screen on the freeze dryer.
Please note the following:
- Ensure you are updating to a compatible software version that will work with the hardware in your machine. If your freeze dryer is currently running on a version 5 software, the middle number in the software version that you are currently on and the middle number in the software version you're trying to update to should match.
- Avoid downloading the file twice to your computer and then trying to put it on your flash drive. If you have a copy of the file, caused by downloading the file twice, then it will look something like this:
H0502015H.hff (1). The(1)is preventing the software from updating properly. If that is the case you need to rename the file and delete the parentheses and the number inside resulting in this:H0502015H.hff - Use a flash drive that is 16 gigabytes or lower. Most 16gb flash drives will work fine, but if you have a problem, we recommend using a smaller capacity flash drive with slower drive speed.
- Ensure the only file on the flash drive is the software file(s) that you need. If you have any document, picture, or anything else on the flash drive, the freeze dryer won’t take the update.
- Do not put the software file inside a folder on the flash drive. If the files are in a zip folder, you will need to extract the files from the zip folder (unzip it) and put the files on the thumb drive as individual files (not contained in any folder). The freeze dryer doesn't know how to pull files out of a folder, so they need to be placed on the flash drive as individual files.
