Screen Replacement Guide
Tools Needed:
- Screwdriver
- Vice grips
Steps:
- Remove the Lower Panel: Begin by unscrewing all but one of the screws from the lower panel, keeping one in place for ease of reassembly later on.
- Detach the Silver Bracket: Locate the silver bracket near the screen and remove the two screws that secure it, which will allow access to the screen.
- Unscrew the Bracket: With your screwdriver, remove the bracket. If the nut on the other side starts to rotate, use your vice grips to keep it in place.
- Disconnect the Orange Ribbon Cable: Gently unplug the orange ribbon cable from the screen to disconnect it.
- Extract the Screen: Remove the screen by unscrewing it from its position. If there is a relay board obstructing the screen, it should be taken out beforehand.
- Install the New Screen: Position the new screen onto the bracket, making sure that it is properly aligned and sits flush behind the bezel.
- Secure the Screen: Reinsert the screws to hold the new screen in place, being careful not to over-tighten and apply excessive pressure.
- Attach the Ground Wire: Find the ground wire and attach it to any exposed metal on the device to ensure it's properly grounded.
- Connect to the USB Board: Carefully slide the orange ribbon cable into the connector on the USB board, securing it behind the white bar.
