In this instructional video, you will learn how to minimize the misting from your Premier oil pump, which, while not harmful, can be a nuisance by filling the room with water vapor mist. This process involves a simple modification to the pump's demister cap.
Tools needed:
- A pen or similar object to remove pins
- Paper towel or normal paper
Steps
- Identifying the problem: First, determine if the excessive misting is due to the oil being tipped into the demister cap. If so, refer to another video in the description for declogging instructions. If the misting persists without that issue, proceed to the next steps.
- Removing the oil cap and pin: Take off the oil cap to reveal a pin that needs to be removed. Use a pen to push out the pin and set it aside.
- Removing the metal ball: After removing the pin, extract the small metal ball from the cap. This ball is no longer needed.
- Replacing the ball with paper: Wad up a piece of sturdy paper towel or normal paper tightly and insert it into the hole where the metal ball was previously.
- Securing the paper: Push the paper in until it is flush with the top so that the pin can be reinserted.
- Reinserting the pin: Align the pin with the hole on the side and push it back into place to secure the paper inside.
- Finalizing: Replace the oil cap. The gas ballast remains open, but misting should be significantly reduced. Discard the metal ball as it's no longer needed.
