If you need to send your freeze dryer and vacuum pump to Harvest Right for repairs, it’s important to package them carefully to prevent shipping damage. Follow these steps to make sure your equipment arrives safely.

What You’ll Need

• Freeze Dryer Return Kit
• Vacuum Pump Return Kit
• Wooden pallet (available at most local stores)
• Tape

Step-by-Step Packing Instructions

1. Prepare the Freeze Dryer

1. Get a Wooden Pallet: This will be the base for shipping your freeze dryer.
2. Add Cardboard and Foam Padding: Place a flat piece of cardboard on the pallet, then lay two foam padding pieces on top.
3. Set the Freeze Dryer: Place your freeze dryer on the foam padding. Make sure the padding supports the ends of the dryer, not the middle.
4. Secure the Drain Hose: Open the drain valve, push it up into the freeze dryer, and tuck the drain hose inside to keep it out of the way.
5. Cover with Plastic Bag: Drape a plastic bag over the entire freeze dryer.
6. Add Cardboard Box and Top Pieces: Place the cardboard box over the freeze dryer, then add the top cardboard piece and corner boards.
7. Strap Down: Use the provided straps and buckles to tightly secure the freeze dryer to the pallet. This prevents movement during shipping.

1. Add Foam Padding to Box: Place a piece of foam padding in the box, set the vacuum pump on top, and fit additional foam pieces around it.
2. Tuck in the Vacuum Hose: Place the vacuum hose in the box with the pump.

4. Place on Freeze Dryer: Set the box on top of the freeze dryer, making sure the pump is upright (especially important for oil pumps).
