The door pad is an optional component of your Harvest Right freeze dryer. It serves to insulate the inside of the drying chamber for lower freezing temperatures.
No, you do not need a door pad for your freeze dryer to function correctly. These door pads were discontinued back in the early 2020s as they are not necessary for the operation of the freeze dryer with the advances in our freeze dryer design.
