How to Clean Inside the Panels of the Freeze Dryer

Cleaning the inside panels of your Harvest Right freeze dryer is a straightforward process. This is largely unnecessary within the first year of operation. Should you feel that you need to remove the panels to your freeze dryer, please follow the instructions listed below.

Tools Required:

  • 1/8 inch Allen wrench
  • Soft cloth or sponge
  • Mild detergent
  • Water
  • Vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment (optional)

Steps to Remove Panels:

  1. Disconnect Power Cord
    • Always start by unplugging the power cord from the machine to ensure safety.
  2. Remove the Top Panel
    • Grab the back of the top panel and gently pull it towards you to remove it.
  3. Remove Power Switch and Receptacle Panel
    • Using a 1/8 inch Allen wrench, unscrew and remove the panel that houses the power switch and receptacle.
  4. Remove Back Panel
    • Take out the back panel and set it aside.
  5. Remove the Side Panels
    • Unscrew the fasteners on each side panel. Once loose, gently pull the panel towards you to remove it.

Cleaning Steps:

    • Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove any dust and debris from the interior surfaces.
  2. Prepare Cleaning Solution

  3. Wipe Down Surfaces
    • Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with the cleaning solution and gently wipe down the interior surfaces. Avoid soaking the cloth or sponge to prevent water from entering electrical components.
  4. Dry the Surfaces
    • Use a dry cloth to wipe down the surfaces and remove any remaining moisture.
  5. Reassemble Panels
    • Once everything is clean and dry, reassemble the panels by following the removal steps in reverse order.
