UNBOX IT
Cut the straps, lift the outer box straight up and remove the protective packaging.
GRAB A FRIEND
Two people should lift the freeze dryer. Always lift from the metal bottom, never the door or drain.
FIND ITS SPOT
LEVEL SURFACE • OPEN SPACE • VENTS CLEAR
Give your freeze dryer plenty of room for airflow. Do not place it in an enclosed cabinet or tight space.
GIVE IT 24 HOURS
Let your freeze dryer sit for 24 hours before operating so the refrigerant can settle after shipping.
GET TO KNOW IT
A few things you’ll want to know about your new unit.
DRAIN PAN
Pull it out. Empty it. Slide it back in.
VACUUM PUMP
There may be a zip tie securing the pump. If there is one, cut the zip tie so that the pump can move in and out.
CHAMBER + DOOR
Close and latch firmly for an airtight seal.
TOUCHSCREEN
Follow the prompts and press start. Your freeze dryer automatically manages the process and guides you along the way.
ADD THE PUMP OIL
Don’t Forget This Step. Your pump ships without oil and is secured for shipping.
BEFORE FIRST USE
There may be a zip tie securing the pump. If there is one, cut the zip tie so that the pump can move in and out and fill it properly.
Fill with the included mineral oil to about the ¾ mark on the sight glass.

Before You Press Start, run through this quick pre-flight checklist:
*A dedicated 15-amp circuit is recommended.
CLEANING THE DOOR?
Warm water + dry cotton cloth only. No household cleaners.
YOUR FIRST RUN
Grab Some Bread. Before starting your first batch, complete one simple burn-in batch to confirm your freeze dryer is operating properly and remove any manufacturing odors.
LOAD
Fill each tray with moist bread.
START
Run a normal freeze-drying cycle.
CHECK
Make sure the bread is completely dry.
DISCARD
Throw the bread away.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW FOR LATER
PUMP OIL MAINTENANCE
CHECK IT: Look at the sight glass after each batch. Oil should be clear.
FILTER IT: If the oil becomes cloudy, dark or milky, filter or replace it. This is typically needed after about 20–25 cycles.
REUSE IT or REPLACE IT: Drain the oil through the included filter, then return the filtered oil to the pump, or refill with new oil.
JUST FOLLOW THE PROMPTS
Your freeze dryer continuously monitors refrigeration, vacuum, and heating while it runs. If something needs attention, just follow the instructions on the screen.
