National Blueberry Cheesecake Day

Can you believe there’s a holiday for cheesecake lovers? National Blueberry Cheesecake Day is May 26th. From its earliest beginnings, to its current iconic status around the world, this creamy cake remains a favorite for people of all ages.

Cheesecake is a mixture of fresh soft cheese, cream cheese or cottage cheese, eggs, and sugar on a crust made from crushed graham crackers, crushed cookies, pastry, or sponge cake. And, although cheesecake recipes and ingredients vary from region to region, Americans have truly made it their own by adding a variety of flavors. The most common of which combines the ancient tradition of creamy goodness with the modern love of healthy natural berries. Blueberry Cheesecake Day celebrates this happy encounter and inspires even more culinary exploration and enjoyment!

Have you tried freeze-dried cheesecake? Other than ice cream, it is probably one of our most sampled sweet treats. There seems to be an endless supply coming out of our test kitchen. Nothing beats a homemade cheesecake, but, even the store-bought cheesecake, cut it into bite-size pieces, makes for a yummy freeze-dried treat.

And, did you know that nearly every ingredient that goes into a cheesecake can be freeze dried: cream cheese, eggs, blueberries…? It’s true!

No matter how you slice it, cheesecake is truly a dessert that has stood the test of time … we just make it possible to enjoy your favorite cheesecake next week, next month, or in 25 years.

How do you “reconstitute” the cheesecake? I am interested in purchasing, have asked for a sample, preferably corn, but have not had any response from your company, except more emails to purchase!

Hi Julie! Cheesecake, cut into small squares (as shown in the post), takes approx. 24-26 hours to freeze dry.

You said “nearly every ingredient that goes into a cheesecake can be freeze dried”. What ingredient should not be freeze dried? Is it safe to freeze dry combined dishes? And I, too, am interested in how to reconstitute the cheese cake! Looks delicious!
